This Privacy Policy explains how the CKDMS mobile application (“App”), developed by Dr. CP Ho (HO CHUNG PING) and associated with the Hong Kong Nephrology Group, handles information. The App is a clinical decision support tool intended exclusively for healthcare professionals (physicians) to assist in the management of diabetic nephropathy and chronic kidney disease. It is not for use by patients or non-physicians.
1. Information We Collect
The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or personally identifiable information from users or about patients.
- Any data entered into the App (such as patient parameters for eGFR calculations or management plans) is processed locally on your device only.
- No data is saved, recorded, uploaded to servers, shared with third parties, or retained after the App is closed or the session ends.
- The App does not require account registration, login, or any form of user identification.
- No data shared with third parties.

2. Device Permissions
The App does not request access to device features such as camera, microphone, location, contacts, or storage. All calculations and functions operate entirely offline on your device.
3. Use of Information
Since no information is collected or stored, there is no use, sharing, or processing of personal data by the developer or any third parties.
The App relies on clinical guidelines (e.g., from The Renal Association, UK, and K/DOQI) and formulas (e.g., abbreviated MDRD equation for eGFR) to provide decision support. All outputs are generated instantly on-device based on inputs you provide during use.
4. Data Security
As no data is collected, stored, or transmitted, there are no remote security risks. Data entered remains solely on your device and is not persisted.
We recommend using standard device security practices (e.g., passcodes, updates) to protect your device.
5. Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for professional use by physicians only and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 (or equivalent age under applicable laws).
6. Compliance with Laws
This App complies with applicable privacy laws, including the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance in Hong Kong. Since no personal data is processed, no consent is required for data handling.
